Ausangate
Creations Inc., is a social purpose business, a hybrid
that combines the social service goals of the public sector, the
mission-driven zeal of a non-profit organization and moneymaking
strategies of a revenue generating business. We seek to meet a
social need and generate a financial profit. As such, we pursue a
double bottom line. The organization supports two projects:
The Women's Coffee Connection (
www.womenscoffeeconnection.com) in Rochester, New York, where
the Women's Opportunity for Work program is implemented; and
Sumac Wasi in Peru, which is a residential and vocational
center for people in substance abuse recovery. The Women's
Coffee Connection website provides links to both Ausangate
Creations, Inc. and Sumac Wasi Ausangate Creations
Inc. began construction of its second project, a 12 Step House
in Cuzco, Peru. Sumac Wasi is modeled after High Watch
Farms in Kent, Connecticut which is a 12 Step Residential
Community developed by Bill Wilson, founder of Alcoholics
Anonymous. It is a non-medical approach to recovery. It will
include a prevention and family education module, and vocational
training. It's location in Poroy; a rural community outside Ciudad
Cuzco will establish it as an outreach center to the indigenous
people of the area.
